2 Mini-Maltese puppies female and male, 3 months old, were paper-trained within 4 days. They were kept in a bedrom. The lady owner notes where they pee and poop. She puts a big piece of newspapers over that area. She also use a piece of tissue paper to soak up the puppy's urine and put on the newspapers.

So both puppies were paper-trained this way within 4 days.

There was an older Maltese that use the same spot for the toilet area. So, it was the smell of urine.

The smell of urine in a particular spot is a strong attraction to the puppies. They were not distracted and also had some intelligence.

To the owner, it was blissful that there was no problem getting the puppies paper-trained so fast.
